Doll Camp (Day 12)

Hi!Β  Here is another cute craft from bennettv!
Enjoy!

Hi guys! I hope you’ve been having a blast this week with all the doll crafting! I know that we sure have!

Today we are going to show you how to make your dolls their very own dream catchers! That way, your dolls can have nothing but sweet dreams all night long! πŸ™‚

To start you will need:Β

A plastic lid

Thin yarn or string

Beads

Hot glue

Scissors

Hole punch

Start with a plastic lid. I like these yogurt lids because they have a green area that is perfect to cut out.

To cut out the circle in the middle, fold the lid in half and make a cut for your scissors to fit through.

Cut out the circle. If your plastic lid does not have a circle you can draw one on. Just be sure to leave an edge that is about an inch wide.

See how nicely that worked? πŸ™‚

Next, take the hole punch and punch holes all the way around. Be sure that the holes are equal distances away from each other, or as close as you can get.

Try not to punch the hole too close to the centre or it will be too thin and it will break.

Can you see the hole that is too close to the centre edge on mine? It’s one of the bottom holes. I ended up having to tape it.

If you have this problem, just wrap a piece of tape over the broken hole, and punch it through again.

Take your thin yarn or string and start weaving it in and out of the holes. At this point you could start stringing beads on if you like, but we didn’t. We saved all the beading until the end.

Just make sure that every stitch goes from one hole to an opposite hole in the other side. That way, you can create a bit of a star or a web pattern. It’s really up to you. Every dream catcher will be different.

You can sort of follow my weaving pattern below, if you like. πŸ™‚

Once you are done, tie a bead into place at the top to keep it from unraveling. Then tie a knot to make a hanger.

It’s time to add the beads! For this we just used hot glue. I had three star beads that I glued at the thickest parts in the web. Then I used some pony beads and glued one at each hole. Pretty!!

You can add feathers or pom poms to your dream catcher as well if you like. Pretty much anything goes!

Sweet dreams!
